Cora and Jasper, childhood best friends had the kind of friendship everyone envied: easy, loyal, and unbreakable. Or so they thought. When a single mistake leaves her facing motherhood alone, Jasper is the first one to stand by her side. Even after Avery is born, Jasper dedicates his time and energy to help Cora raise her daughter. But Cora, fueled by fear and a need to protect him from her messy life, makes the hardest decision: to leave town and start over. 

 

Now, with her father nearing the end, Cora is forced to confront the wreckage of her past and the man she left behind. Jasper is older, a little harder, but the spark that always simmered beneath their friendship still burns bright.
